An Intimate Christmas
Christmas is a hectic time of year. You have to go gift shopping for your partner, your parents, the in-laws, nieces and nephews, and probably the pets too. You spend all of Christmas day with your extended family opening gifts, eating way too much food, and drinking enough eggnog to send your cholesterol to dangerous heights. Then you have to do it all over again with in-laws leaving hardly any time to enjoy Christmas with your partner.
Last year we started a new tradition to ensure we get to enjoy the holidays on a more intimate level where we can just focus on each other. Usually people wish for a white Christmas, but on this day we’re going to turn Christmas a little blue.
Set the date
First you need to decide on a date where you can ensure it’s just going to be the two of you for the whole day. The date doesn’t really matter, it can be Dec 23rd, or the 27th, or even Jan 4th. Just make sure you’re not going to be disturbed for the whole day. We decided on Dec 28th as the best day for us this year.
Presents and Pancakes
The best part of any Christmas is opening what Santa brought you
Wake up nice and early, or at noon, it’s your special day after all, and start your morning by opening your gifts! We began with opening our stocking stuffers, and then the gifts we bought for each other.
Christmas Morning isn’t complete without a big breakfast! We whipped up blueberry chocolate chip pancakes, topped off with fresh fruit, and brewed some coffee (eggnog optional). Head Over to our Pinterest page for more Christmas breakfast ideas here. Then it was time to get the day started with a nice long hot shower together.
Presents, pancakes, and a hot steamy shower. What great way to kick off Intimate Christmas with your partner!
Cookies and Cocoa
Take the afternoon to focus on being with each other on this Intimate Christmas day
We bundled up in our warmest clothes and walked to the local market to get our food for dinner. Along the way we stopped in a nice little cafe to warm up with some hot cocoa.
When we got home we put on our favorite Christmas movie, Die Hard! While we watched John McClane save Christmas again, we baked some delicious cookies. Yippee-Ki-Yay Love Trippers!
It doesn’t really matter what you do during the day, as long as you get to spend the afternoon with all your focus on each other.
Dining and Dessert
Christmas isn’t complete until you have a Christmas dinner
However considering the romantic plans for the evening it’s probably not a good idea to eat a 10lbs turkey with all the trimmings.
We started our evening with a traditional Christmas Cocktail of eggnog. If eggnog isn’t your thing then check out some other Christmas drink ideas here. Next we opened a bottle of Chianti, and enjoyed a delightful cheese and meat plate, with olives, fresh figs, and walnuts. We really love this type of meal for an intimate evening because it’s not too heavy and you can keep picking at it throughout the night. For dessert we got to enjoy the fruits of our labour and ate our Christmas cookies with some coffee and Kahlua.
No screaming kids, no grandpa telling the same story you’ve heard hundred times, no third helpings of turkey. The mood for the night is set with a light romantic dinner for two.
Naughty and Nice
Now it’s time to play with your new toys and show Santa why you belong on the naughty list
We started our day by opening our stocking stuffers and the gifts we bought for each other. We decided to save the special gift we bought to enjoy together for last. We like to label that last gift as “From: Santa”, and who knew Santa delivered Sex Swings! You can find some more XXXmas gift ideas for the both of you here. We took our new gift, our sexy game for couples, and the bottle of red to the bed room and we had the opposite of a silent night.
With a little bit of planning you’ll have started a new sexy tradition that you’ll get to enjoy for many years to come. Remember that the key is to make this holiday just about you and your partner. No family, no last minute shopping, just an intimate day which should end with you both singing ‘O Come all Ye Faithful” in harmony!
